Ecology at the Hotel

At the GLAR Conference & SPA Hotel, caring for the environment is a priority in every aspect that concerns guest service and a matter of respect for the location in the buffer zone of the Wolin National Park. The following are the most important solutions that are used in the Hotel:

  • The central heating system and the supply of ventilation heaters are supplied by ground source water-to-water heat pumps. In order to ensure economical operation of the facility, in addition to the use of heat pumps, a system of solar collectors is used for the preparation of domestic hot water.
  • Photovoltaic panels on the hotel's roof are used as an additional source of power for the electrical system. In addition, the facility has an installation for the treatment of gray wastewater used after the filtration process as gray water used for toilet tanks.
  • The hotel is equipped with energy-efficient electrical appliances, LED lighting, motion sensors, thermal insulation and air conditioning, and the whole is administered by a smart energy management system.
  • Water-saving solutions are implemented, including water flow restrictors in bathroom faucets and wc with two flush buttons. In addition, guests' towels are washed only upon request. The landscape irrigation system uses rainwater - we store it in tanks and use it for watering.
  • In the SPA department, we use Phytomer brand cosmetics for treatments, which are among the products extracted from the sea from seaweed (green, black and red), and their packaging is made from 100% recycled materials.
  • In all areas of the hotel's operations, waste is minimized and all waste is properly segregated. Guests are provided with special containers in each room, which are also available in public areas of the Hotel. Thanks to a special device, we reduce the volume of some waste.
  • We use biodegradable cleaning products and organic laundry. All products have the appropriate certificates and approvals.
  • In office work, we use recycled paper and materials, and the number of printed documents is reduced to the necessary minimum. Communication with guests is also done in a similar way, and most information is provided in the form of convenient QR codes.
  • In the kitchen, we use products from local suppliers, which are fresher and healthier, and we implement a short supply chain for most of them. Local producers often use organic farming methods, eliminating harmful pesticides and chemical fertilizers. We promote a healthy and balanced diet, and minimize the amount of food thrown away.
  • In the parking lot, a charger for electric cars is at guests' disposal, providing fast and efficient charging and emission-free driving.
  • During their stay, Guests use reusable products that are environmentally friendly and stylish, such as wooden room access cards. Plastic items are kept to a minimum or replaced with eco-friendly solutions such as paper straws and biodegradable packaging.
  • The hotel's surroundings and location allow you to contemplate the beauty of nature in peace. The hotel is surrounded by a lake and forest that invite hiking and biking.
